My Confidence and My Common Sense

April 2, 2019 by kid

It’s Important to Have Trusted People to Help You

No matter who we are, we all need people in our lives that help move us forward.  I call my trusted people “My Confidence” and “My Common Sense”.  I really don’t do much without their input.  My Confidence helps ease my anxiety when I’m in a new situation that I don’t completely understand.  My Common Sense is like a superhero with x-ray vision, helping me see the unseen and the unexpected.

I’ve learned that trusting others is the thing that either makes you or breaks you in life.  You have to trust people to take care of you as a child.  You may have to trust people to take care of you in your later years.  You have to first trust your friends in order to have a true friendship.  You have to trust your spouse to have a secure bond.  The thing about psychosis, though, is it can make you suspicious of literally everyone and everything.  How can you trust when you can’t differentiate between the real and the illusion?

Mad With Reason would like to give a BIG “Thank You” to those who continue to lovingly support those with mental illness.  Whether you feel like it or not, you are a superhero.

If you haven’t already, please check out our original story, The Thingys.
